Where is it taking place? JUan Uribe Academy, San Cristobal, Dominican Republic

Juan Uribe is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) infielder from the Dominican Republic who played 16 seasons in the big leagues and won two World Series titles. Uribe started his professional career when he signed with the Colorado Rockies in 1997 and reached the majors in 2001. He quickly became their starting shortstop early in his career. After retiring, Uribe has stayed involved in baseball. He operates a training academy in the Dominican Republic, helping develop young players and mentoring prospects.

About the Founder, Tommy Miranda

Tommy Miranda began his journey as a standout baseball player, proudly representing Puerto Rico on multiple occasions, including being part of the 1994 American Legion World Series championship team. He attended Benson High School, where he still holds the record for the lowest ERA at an impressive 0.65. After suffering an injury in college, Tommy returned to Puerto Rico to begin coaching and teaching baseball, which eventually led him to Northwest Christian Academy in Miami, Florida. There, he led the team to a state runner-up finish and two Final Four appearances over the course of three years. He also served as a scout for the Houston Astros during this time, further deepening his knowledge of the game and talent development. Tommy then transitioned into professional agency work, bringing over 20 years of experience as a baseball agent, including five years with Boras Corporation, where he dedicated his career to helping athletes reach their full potential both on and off the field. His passion has always been rooted in not only developing players’ athletic skills but also guiding them to grow into the people God has called them to be. After stepping away from agency work, Tommy shifted his focus to training and development as a high school coach in Georgia, continuing his mission of mentorship through the game. His heart for young athletes has led him to launch a baseball camp in the Dominican Republic, where he aims to push players to their peak performance. Through this camp, Tommy is committed to combining elite training with cultural immersion and meaningful community service. In addition to his work in baseball, Tommy is the founder of I’m Still Standing Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on providing aid and support to families and countries in need, including ongoing support for an orphanage in Honduras.
